Domain Registration
- Domain registration reserves your name in the gTLD of your choosing - e.g. .co.tz, .tz, .com, .org. etc. This by itself does not provide you with anything e.g. Email services, website hosting, etc.
- You can add other services like Web hosting or Email hosting to your order to be able to create your own email accounts and be able to host your website with us.
- If you already have web hosting or email hosting elsewhere e.g. Office 365 or Google or Zoho, you can register only the domain itself and proceed onto the next steps below.
DNS (for domain only customers)
- After you have registered your domain, You will need somewhere where you can host your DNS entries. DNS in simple terms - converts names to IP addresses (Each visitor to your website or each email sender needs to know the actual IP address of the server where your content is hosted, on the internet each server has a unique IP address)
- If you already have a web hosting provider, they can provide their NAMESERVERS to you which you will use in the "Name Servers" field when registering/updating your domain name.
- If you DO NOT have a web hosting provider, or your hosting provider only offers email hosting (e.g. Office 365/Google/Zoho, etc.), You can register for FREE DNS HOSTING at Cloudflare.com, desec.io or cloudns.net
- These services will help you host your DOMAIN DNS ZONE, where you can then control each DNS entry for your domain name.
